Our History.
Dovey (or 'Dove') is a fear-aggressive dog with PTSD, but you wouldn’t know it when you see us out in public, enjoying activities that easygoing dogs love. Once dog-friendly, Dovey experienced a traumatic attack while confined in a wire crate, which changed her. Lilli has dedicated herself to helping Dovey rediscover comfort in the things she once enjoyed—like walking in the park, hiking, practicing drills on busy streets, and even visiting breweries.
Through years of studying canine psychology and a lot of trial and error, Dovey can now enjoy these activities again, thanks to consistent Advocacy and Accountability. That’s what Dove K9 stands for: advocating for your dog in situations that make them uncomfortable rather than punishing them for managing those situations on their own. Corrections should be fair, well-timed, and meaningful. By holding yourself accountable to advocate for your dog, you can build the strongest bond between you and your canine friend—and it truly makes all the difference!
